A Rulebook for Arguments
Rather, argument refers to reasoning and rhetoric. Isn’t it easier to just tell someone to “Be concrete and concise” rather than to refer them to Rule 4 in their rulebook? Refresh and try again. No trivia or quizzes yet. It also explains types of deductive arguments which I got a brief introduction to through CrashCourse Philosophy, but this book goes into a lot more detail. Its info is too basic for older students and its content invites problems with younger students.
I wish the people on facebook with whom I have nonsensical political and religious arguments would read this. But it is definitely useful, and works very well as a, well, rulebook for arguments.

Books by Anthony Weston. Nothing earthshaking here, and the examples were a bit brief, but it was altogether worth reading.
Handy little reference book, the Strunk and White for argumentation. Quotes from A Rulebook for Ar I was hesitating to buy this book but after reading it, I realise it is worth it’s price. Favorite section is the one on fallacies. This is the first book I’m reading about critical thinking and this is a very good introduction, indeed. Seriously, a must read for everyone. I read this book in two westom sittings with indepth study, because the book is westton in one. Amazon Music Stream millions of songs.

Criticisms and suggestions, as always, are welcome. The author compares his book to Strunk and White on writing well on the last page of his book, and he is pas right.
This book is excellent for learning better arguing strategies and learning when other people actually sound like complete morons during an argument. A lot of what is said is common sense, even to people who aren’t familiar with more formal argumentation at all.

Unlike most textbooks on argumentative writing, Rulebook is organised around specific rules, illustrated and explained soundly and briefly. Updated examples, streamlined text, and the chapter on definition reworked in a rule-based format strengthen this already strong volume. argymentacion
